PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME

First day (February 24th, 2011):

Lectures (9:00 – 12:30):

  • Introduction to Networking (2h / Dan Savu)
  • The ATLAS TDAQ Network Architecture (30’ / Dan Savu or Brian Martin)
  • Advanced Network Monitoring Techniques (case study: The ATLAS TDAQ Network) (1h / Brian Martin or Dan Savu)

Laboratory works (14:00 – 17:00+):

  • Network Monitoring Lab ( 1h )
  • 3D graphics lab ( 1h )

Second Day (February 25th, 2011):

Lectures (9:00 – 12:00):

  • Introduction to Data Acquisition Systems (1h / Luca Magnoni)
  • The Atlas DAQ System (30’ / Luca Magnoni)
  • Introduction to 3D graphics (1h / Silvia Batraneanu)
  • Monitoring the ATLAS Network using virtual reality (30’ / Silvia Batraneanu)

Laboratory works (14:00 – 17:00+):

  • Network Monitoring Lab ( 1h )
  • 3D graphics lab ( 1h )

All the participants are kindly asked to register by sending an e-mail to the organizer (Mihai.Ivanovici (at) gmail.com) prior to the beginning of the school. Registration fee: 400 RON. Free attendance for the students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (IESC), Transilvania University of Brasov.
